Militias backed by Iran, operating inside Iraq's official security forces, have received short-range ballistic missiles from Iran, reports CSIS. The missiles can travel hundreds of miles. Iraq's government oversees these forces on paper, but Iran holds real sway — and Iraqi law doesn't address who actually controls these weapons.
