Iran-backed militias within Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces have acquired short-range ballistic missiles from Iran, according to CSIS's Missile Threat project. The PMF is a legally recognized component of Iraq's security apparatus, yet Iran has infiltrated the network to wield significant influence inside the country.
