Diesel fuel in Yemen nearly doubled in price from January to late July 2026, Al Jazeera reports. Yemen imports almost all its fuel, and the US-Iran war cut off those supplies. With fuel too costly, building projects stopped nationwide. A worker in Taiz cut his pay from $17 to $13 a day and still could not find work.
