Valve's Steam Machine Buyers Get 72 Hours to Pay — Starting From Email Send Time

Valve will email Steam Machine reservation holders by end of 2025. They then have 72 hours to complete the purchase or lose their spot. The countdown starts when the email is sent, not when they open it. Valve did not say whether any reminders or extra time will be offered.
