Government's $4m refinery plan may rely entirely on imported oil

The Albanese government is spending $4m studying a new West Australian oil refinery, calling it fuel security for Australia. But Geoscience Australia says local oil could run out within seven years. Expert Baethan Mullen says the refinery would almost certainly process imported oil only. Former BP chief Greg Bourne doubts it would even pay for itself. So much for fuel security.
