Australian doctors prescribing medical cannabis far stronger than what studies have tested

Australian doctors are prescribing medical cannabis with THC — the main mind-altering ingredient — at levels up to 88%, four times higher than the 22% any study has tested for safety. Australia sets no legal limit. Of over 1,000 products sold, only two passed government safety checks. Regulators have made this a 2026 priority.
