Saudi Prince Bought a Big Stake in Lucid Motors Amid Bankruptcy Rumors
Prince Al Waleed bin Talal bought 19 million shares of electric carmaker Lucid Motors on July 14, 2026 — a 5% ownership stake — disclosed in a regulatory filing on July 28. That same day, a blog reported Lucid might go bankrupt or be bought outright by its largest investor, Saudi Arabia's PIF, which already owns about 60%. Lucid denied the report. The prince called it a vote of confidence.
