Changes coming to scheme that brings overseas workers to NZ farms

Immigration Minister Erica Stanford has announced changes to a scheme that brings about 17,000 workers from Asia and the Pacific to Aotearoa each year to help with fruit picking and farm work. Workers will be able to move between employers more easily, and rules around employer approval and costs will be clearer. Changes take effect from 2027 through 2029.
