Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan quits amid polls slide and corruption claims

Jacinta Allan resigned as Victorian Premier on 28 July 2026. Labor MPs had tried to remove her the day before but couldn't. Falling poll numbers, growing One Nation support and corruption claims over the Big Build infrastructure program drove the push. Her deputy Ben Carroll takes over unopposed, with the state election four months out.
