Allan falls: polling slide, One Nation surge and Big Build corruption claims end her premiership

Jacinta Allan resigned as Victorian Premier on 28 July 2026 after a delegation of Labor MPs failed to move her the day before. Poor polling, rising One Nation support and corruption allegations around the Big Build infrastructure program drove the challenge. Her deputy, Ben Carroll, will take the leadership unopposed with the state election four months away.
