Court Order Couldn't Stop Oklahoma Murder-Suicide

Sara Gilson asked a court three times over five years for protection from her estranged husband Jeremiah Duffy. Two requests were dropped in 2021 when she didn't show up. The third was granted in July 2026, days before Duffy killed her and himself. She'd warned he threatened suicide and owned a gun. A court order carries legal weight but can't physically stop someone.
