
Uganda Steps In to Feed Its Own Hungry
After 19 people died from hunger, Uganda sent its own government food aid to Karamoja for the first time — 9,400 tonnes reaching 313,987 households. Foreign aid cuts had left a gap. With 1.5 million still short of food and a 2022 crisis that killed over 2,200, Uganda is testing whether it can feed its people without outside help.
