UK Cancels Kenya Military Training Over Legal Dispute

Britain cancelled a September 2026 military training exercise in Kenya with about 1,500 troops. The disagreement is about which country's courts can put British soldiers on trial for alleged crimes committed in Kenya. A defence agreement between the two nations permits these yearly exercises. The UK said it "deeply regrets" problems around its military presence in Kenya.
