Huge Wildfires Force a Quarter-Million People to Flee France and Spain

More than 250,000 people have run from wildfires in France and Spain — 197,000 from France, 70,000 from central Spain. A French official said it may be the country's biggest evacuation ever outside of war. Spain issued its first-ever national wildfire emergency. France sent 1,500 soldiers and 1.5 million smoke masks.
