Fourth Firefighter Dies From Colorado Wildfire Trapped Crew

A fourth firefighter has died after being trapped by a wildfire in Colorado. Nathan Matthews, 43, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died July 24 from burns sustained June 27 in what firefighters call a burnover — when flames overrun a crew's position. He and three crewmates who died at the scene had used emergency fire shelters, foil tents meant to protect them from extreme heat. Their helicopter-based team was fighting a fast-moving blaze near the Colorado-Utah border. The US Interior Department confirmed the death.
