Pentagon Stops Talking to Press for 10 Weeks as Iran War Casualties Grow

The Pentagon (the headquarters of the US military) hasn't held a press briefing — a regular meeting where officials answer reporters' questions — in over 10 weeks during the Iran war, now in its fifth month. Eighteen US troops have died and about 430 been injured. Former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, who briefed weekly during past wars, called the silence a deliberate effort to hide information from Americans.
