Firm Tied to Cameron and Johnson Aide Paid Journalists to Write Hidden Ads

A Guardian investigation found CT Group, a lobbying firm co-founded by a strategist who advised Cameron and Johnson, paid journalists to write positive stories that looked like genuine news in British papers. Lobbyists offered an undercover reporter hundreds of pounds to pitch pieces for a property client trying to shape coverage of the safety regulator set up after Grenfell. CT Group called the events "deliberately mischaracterised."
