Hungary's President Signs a Law That Removes Him From Office

Hungary's parliament passed a law that immediately ended President Tamás Sulyok's term. He signed it himself. The prime minister's party controls two-thirds of parliament, enough to change the constitution. He had called Sulyok a "puppet" of the old government. Human Rights Watch said the move reminded them of that era's tight grip on power.
