Hungary's President Sulyok Signs Constitutional Amendment Ending His Own Term

Hungary's parliament, where PM Péter Magyar's Tisza party holds a two-thirds majority, passed a constitutional amendment immediately ending President Tamás Sulyok's term. Sulyok signed the legislation himself. Magyar had accused Sulyok, an Orbán-era appointee, of being a "puppet." Human Rights Watch called the move "reminiscent of the Fidesz era."
