EU Fines AliExpress €550 Million Over Unsafe Products

The European Union fined AliExpress €550 million (~$629M) for letting illegal, unsafe, and counterfeit products reach European shoppers. Investigators found the online marketplace had too few staff checking products and left dangerous toys and cosmetics listed for weeks after they were flagged. AliExpress has until October 20, 2026 to fix the problems or face further fines.
