EU Fines AliExpress €550 Million in Largest-Ever DSA Penalty

The European Commission fined AliExpress €550 million (~$629M) for violating the Digital Services Act by failing to prevent illegal, unsafe, and counterfeit products from reaching EU consumers. The Commission found AliExpress understaffed product verification and left unsafe toys and dangerous cosmetics listed for weeks after detection. AliExpress has until October 20, 2026 to comply or face periodic fines.
