Teen Palestinian Footballer Dies After Being Shot in West Bank Village

Fadi al-Nassan, 17, a Palestinian youth team footballer, died July 18, 2026, from a gunshot wound suffered July 11. The Palestine Football Association said Israeli forces shot him in the thigh during an attack by settlers — Israelis who live in communities on Palestinian land — on al-Mughayyir, a village in the West Bank, a Palestinian territory under Israeli military control. Doctors amputated his leg. Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper, reports he was the seventh al-Mughayyir resident killed by soldiers or settlers since October 2023.
