First U.S. Soldiers Killed in Jordan During War With Iran
Two U.S. soldiers died in Jordan on July 17, 2026, during an Iranian attack using missiles and drones (unmanned aircraft). These are the first U.S. combat deaths on Jordanian soil since the U.S.-Iran war started in February 2026. Iran had already said it targeted a U.S. military base there, showing it is now directly attacking U.S. forces, not just Israeli-linked sites. This raises pressure on Washington to strike back.
