Can a Living President Go on a Coin? Treasury and a Law Professor Disagree

The U.S. Mint is making a special $1 coin with President Trump's face for the nation's 250th birthday. Law professor Jeremy Paul said a federal rule keeps living people off U.S. money. The Treasury Department disagreed, saying the rule does not cover special coins, and cited a 2020 law allowing the 250th-anniversary coin.
