
Treasury and Legal Scholars Clash Over Whether Trump Can Appear on New $1 Coin
The U.S. Mint is producing a $1 commemorative coin bearing President Trump's face for the nation's 250th anniversary. Constitutional law professor Jeremy Paul said federal law bars living persons from U.S. currency. The Treasury Department said commemorative coins fall outside that prohibition, citing a 2020 law authorizing 250th-anniversary coins.
