U.S. to Target Left-Wing Political Violence Abroad

Secretary of State Marco Rubio told leaders from more than 60 countries in Washington on July 16, 2026, that the U.S. will focus its fight against terrorism on left-wing political violence, calling it a "blind spot." President Trump introduced Rubio; Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller also spoke. A report cited at the event found left-wing attacks topped far-right attacks for the first time in 30 years.
