Trump's Teleprompter Operator Accused of Betting on Speech Content
Federal investigators accused Gabriel Perez, Trump's teleprompter operator since 2016, of using advance access to speech texts to win over $100,000 on Kalshi, a site where people bet on event outcomes. Users could bet on whether Trump would say specific words during events including the State of the Union and a Medal of Honor ceremony. Kalshi's surveillance team flagged the trades and referred them to the CFTC.
