Trump's Teleprompter Operator Accused of $100K+ Kalshi Insider Betting on Speech Content

Federal investigators accused Gabriel Perez, Trump's teleprompter operator since 2016, of using advance access to speech texts to win more than $100,000 on Kalshi prediction markets. Kalshi's "mentions" markets let users bet on whether Trump would say specific words during events including the State of the Union and a Medal of Honor ceremony. Kalshi's surveillance team flagged the trades and referred them to the CFTC.
