Microsoft Researcher Leaves, Ends His Group Focused on AI

John Langford, a senior research manager at Microsoft Research New York, has left Microsoft. In a blog post dated November 6, 2026, he declared his AI (artificial intelligence) Frontiers group over. The roughly 50-person group, which he created in 2023, was moved under Microsoft AI in early September. Langford said he found places for members as well as he could.
