Microsoft Researcher John Langford Leaves Company, Declares AI Frontiers Group Over

John Langford, partner research manager at Microsoft Research New York, has left Microsoft and declared its AI Frontiers group over in a blog post dated November 6, 2026. The roughly 50-person group, which he created in 2023, was moved into Microsoft AI in early September. Langford said he found places for team members as well as he could.
