US Adds 25% Tax on Certain Brazilian Products Starting July 22
Starting July 22, the US adds a 25% tax on certain Brazilian goods after a year-long investigation found unfair trade practices, including weak anti-corruption efforts. Brazil is the first country hit under this new trade strategy. Coffee, beef, and airplane parts are exempt. Brazil can now strike back with its own penalties. A separate forced-labor investigation ends July 24.
