Uber to Buy Food Delivery Rival in $14.8bn Deal

Uber agreed to buy Berlin-based Delivery Hero for $14.8bn, uniting Uber Eats with brands like foodpanda and talabat across 99 countries. Together they processed $236bn in orders in 2025. Delivery Hero's board fully supported the sale. It should finalize in the second half of 2027, though government regulators — who check whether mergers hurt competition — must first approve it in several countries.
