Government takes too long to share AI cost advice

RNZ asked Finance Minister Nicola Willis for advice she received on what AI costs and delivers. The law says the government must answer such requests within 20 working days. Instead, the response was pushed to 24 August — over two months later. That delay comes as the government urges public agencies to adopt AI quickly.
