Peters to meet Pacific leaders in Auckland as Australia builds defence ties in the region
Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters will meet ministers from Niue, Fiji and Samoa in Auckland on 15 July 2026. Peters said staying connected matters when the world feels uncertain. Australia recently signed a defence agreement with Fiji, and one before that with Papua New Guinea. Niue's leader Dalton Tagelagi meets Peters for the first time since his May re-election.
