Meta shuts down Instagram feature that created AI images of anyone

Meta disabled Muse Image, a tool that let Instagram users generate AI pictures of any public account without asking permission first. Actors' unions and agents objected immediately, arguing people's faces shouldn't be used this way. Meta acknowledged the feature "missed the mark" but hasn't said if it will return or how future AI image tools will handle consent.
