Cybersecurity Employee Arrested for Secretly Helping Ransomware Criminals

Angelo Martino was hired to help victims of digital extortion. Instead, he secretly worked with the criminals, giving them information about which companies to target and how much they could pay. Martino had access to this sensitive information through his job. He admitted his guilt in April 2026 and was sentenced this week. Two other security workers were already in prison for the same crime.
