Europe Orders Meta to Remove Addictive Features From Facebook and Instagram

European regulators found Meta deliberately kept features like infinite scroll and auto-playing videos to keep users hooked longer than necessary. Meta must turn off these features by default, add forced breaks to warn users, and stop promoting posts designed purely for engagement. Meta can respond to the ruling before any fine is applied.
