Sunrun Turns Home Solar Systems Into Rented Computing Power for AI Companies

Sunrun is testing whether home solar setups can double as computing centers. Starting July 8, the company installs hardware in homes with its solar panels and battery systems, then sells the combined computing power to companies needing it for artificial intelligence work. The test sidesteps long waits for data center space that utilities currently struggle to provide.
