Ares Moves to Buy a Rival Lending Fund From Apollo

A lending fund run by Ares is buying a rival from Apollo Global Management, the Wall Street Journal reported. These companies, called BDCs, lend money to private businesses. The deal would lift Ares Capital Corp., which calls itself the largest publicly traded BDC, to more than $31 billion. The deal is still pending.
