Government Expects Natural Gas Prices to Fall 9% in 2027

The U.S. EIA expects natural gas, delivered right away, to average $3.16 per MMBtu (a heat-energy unit) in 2027, 32 cents, or 9%, below 2026. It is a computer-model estimate, not a guarantee. Futures, contracts betting on future prices, fell for four trading days to October 21 on mild weather, which does not erase January and February risk.
