EU Will Require All New Cars to Watch for Drowsy or Distracted Drivers

Starting July 2026, every new car sold in Europe must have cameras inside the cabin that watch the driver's eyes. If the system detects you're drowsy or not paying attention, it alerts you. The EU expects this will save more than 25,000 lives by 2038. Car makers must meet this requirement or they cannot sell vehicles in Europe.
