Google Changes What Counts Toward Your Free Cloud Storage

Starting July 7, Google will count your Android phone backups—like app settings and text messages—toward your free 15GB storage limit. Until now, only photo and video backups counted. Most users will gain about 40MB of new usage, but those with lots of messages or apps may use more. You can now pick which backups to exclude.
