Amazon Shutters Mechanical Turk for New Customers

Amazon is closing its Mechanical Turk platform to new users starting July 30, 2026. Existing workers and customers can stay, but the company will only maintain basic security and stability. The service, which paid people to label data and complete small tasks for researchers since 2005, is being phased out as AI automation handles the work it once required.
