Uber Tests Self-Driving Cars in Manchester

Uber has started testing self-driving cars in Manchester with technology from Pony and Verne. The cars are learning streets, like making a map, with a human aboard for safety and no passengers, licensed by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency and Department for Transport. Uber has not applied for passenger trips yet. London already allows limited rides with supervision.
