National plans to make trade agreements with seven countries

National's trade spokesperson Todd McClay said a National government would try to strike trade agreements with Brazil, Switzerland, Argentina, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Uruguay, and a European trade group within five years. These countries are spread across different continents. Trade agreements usually take many years to complete; National's plan would mean negotiating with all of them at once.
