Mining approval rules may change, Minister says

Mining Minister Shane Jones says the fast-track law, the shortcut system for approving big projects, is likely to be changed if mining applications are turned down. He spoke at the proposed Bendigo-Ophir gold mine near Cromwell on Tuesday. He blamed delays on what he called a 'constipated bureaucratic beast', reports say.
