Your coffee costs more after the card fee ban
17% of Australian cafes have raised coffee prices since card fees were banned on 1 October, says coffee tracker Small Flat White. It checked over 1,500 cafes. The usual rise is 50 cents — more than 10%. That's far more than the old 1.5% card fee. It was meant to make prices fairer. Not quite.
