Strong Storm Isaias Kills At Least Four in Florida and Alabama

At least four people died in Florida and Alabama after Hurricane Isaias struck near Destin as a Category 2, or strong, storm. Two died when trees fell on homes, one died from poisonous generator fumes in Escambia County, and one died in a crash with a fallen tree in Barbour County. Florida, Alabama and Georgia declared emergencies to speed aid.
