Court papers show The Australian's Shadow of Doubt podcast, from 2023, pushed William 'Rob' Gilfillan's Victoria trial back 10 months. The ex-teacher is already serving 48 years for abusing his daughter and faced charges involving two Gippsland schoolgirls in the 1980s. Lawyers said the show, doubting the first guilty verdict, could unfairly sway jurors.
