Britain should make its own artificial intelligence, computers that learn, for its military, hospitals and essential services rather than borrow it from abroad, says George Williamson, head of the UK's Alan Turing Institute. With the US and China in the lead, he warned foreign suppliers could limit or switch off access, leaving Britain unable to run things on its own.
